It has only been a month since I began my articling position at Chapman Steffler LLP, and what a great month it has been! Being greeted by Millie and Luna every morning really does make the start of each day that much better. From the moment I arrived, Chapman Steffler LLP has demonstrated what a welcoming and collaborative environment it is, where learning is always encouraged.
The entire team is supportive, approachable, and always on the go. In my first week, I was exposed to several different files, had the pleasure of meeting with clients, attended court with one of our lawyers, and was able to assist throughout the process. I have already learned so much and am excited to continue building my knowledge and experience throughout my articling term.
As a new team member, one of the most beneficial things I have learned is the importance of staying curious and not being afraid to take initiative. Whether it’s a big or small project, you are bound to learn something new, so taking on any opportunity to help is a great way to grow and gain practical experience.
During my time at the firm, I look forward to exploring the litigation side of family law. I have also always had an interest in medical law and look forward to the opportunity to work on cases that may incorporate those issues.
I’m grateful to be part of such a welcoming and supportive team as I begin my legal career, and I look forward to my continued learning and exposure to family law. I am excited to continue gaining hands-on experience and learning from the talented lawyers at the firm.
