I grew up in Barrie and have been proud to build both my academic and professional career here in Ontario. I earned my Honours Bachelor of Social Work with First Class Standing from Lakehead University in Orillia before completing my Juris Doctor at Lakehead’s Bora Laskin Faculty of Law.
During law school, I had the opportunity to summer with the Thunder Bay branch of LEAF, where I researched and prepared a paper for the national office on the impact of the Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act on Indigenous women in northern communities, helping inform their position on the rights of sex workers. I also worked with the Newcomer Legal Clinic, where I supported Afghan refugees and LGBTQ2S+ individuals with immigration appeals and proceedings.
My academic work was recognized nationally when I won the Canadian Bar Association’s 2024 Elder Law Essay Contest for presenting queer theory as a framework to approach Elder Law and the legal tests for capacity. After graduating, I articled at one of Canada’s leading boutique litigation firms, recognized nationally for its excellence in advocacy, before joining Chapman Steffler shortly after being called to the Bar in June 2025.
When I’m not in the office, I can usually be found cozying up with my cat, reading epic fantasy novels, exploring new hiking trails, or tending to my garden.
